吉姆-卡明斯自编自导自演，主人公是一个偏远小镇上的混混警官，他坚信最近发生的一系列凶杀案是一位刚来到小镇的连环杀手所为，但居民们竟然认为是狼人。

教父李无上在外镇守邪魔，放心不下家中父亲李老实与傻妹妹，便打算给父亲找个老伴。王婆到李老实当保安的名流会所给他介绍对象，李老实以为是骗局，直接拒绝。这时，经理告知李老实，有贵客点名找他，他一过去，那群女子便喊拜见神君，李老实也认为她们是骗子，急忙离开。匆忙间，他与楚家大小姐楚冰柔相撞，楚冰柔大发雷霆。此时，与楚冰柔有婚约的秦家派人来，欲强行带她回去联姻，楚冰柔坚决不从，关键时刻李老实挺身而出！

故事发生在新泻县的山古志市，星野里志（柳叶敏郎 饰）在当地以饲养斗牛维生。星野的妻子在早年间不幸去世，留下了小女儿美音（贯地谷诗堀 饰）给星野照料，美音是一个聋哑女孩。与此同时，星野还要照顾自己年迈的父亲宏一郎（橘爪功 饰）。尽管现实是这样的残酷，但是星野还是凭借自己的劳动和双手将上老下小给拉扯养活了，不仅如此，美音还即将和她的如意郎君步入婚姻的殿堂，星野作为父亲，能够看着心爱的女儿嫁人，也算是功德圆满。 　　然而，在婚期将近之际，准婆婆的一句话让美音破了防，美音离开了家，独自踏上了自我疗愈之旅。
